About Me:
Catherine McDonald is currently a junior at Miami University. Her major is Strategic Communications with a minor in Spanish. She grew up in Chicago, IL and is the youngest of 6 children. She has 3 older stepsisters and 2 older brothers, who both attended Miami as well. Last semester, she traveled around the world on a boat through a program called Semester at Sea. This program really opened up her eyes to all of the world and the many issues each country is facing. In the future, Catherine hopes to pursue a job in Public Relations in either Chicago or New York City. She also hopes to participate in some sort of volunteer program either locally or abroad.

My Work:
In high school Catherine was captain of the cheerleading team, which allowed the growth of her leadership skills. She also volunteered at her local nursing home and participated in a service trip to Frenchville, Pennsylvania where she built houses. When she came to college, Catherine joined the Public Relations Student Society of America and was also a brand ambassador for the New York Times Now application. This required her to market this app to students at Miami through social media and on campus events. When she was a sophmore, Catherine also worked as the social media coordinator at The Odyssey newspaper online.
